Bill the Bush Turkey, 2023

WHITE RAKU CERAMIC AND GLAZES
26 × 17 × 9 cm
I have always had a soft spot for bush turkeys. They have a calm but striking presence and I love the way they curiously roam around their environment. That classroom that I teach in is often visited by a wandering bush turkey and I’m often fascinated by its complex features and textures. This sculpture invites viewers to contemplate the often overlooked beauty of our environment and the creatures that inhabit it.
