As a child I would watch my father laying concrete and terrazzo and he taught me the value of creating designs that was both useful and beautiful and that is how I views my art. Call it Bauhaus or whatever, for me, they must have a use, either to decorate a home or simply make someones day a little brighter. Form and function – thats what I strives to achieve. In this series of paintings I has reached back into my childhood days and my Italian heritage and used those memories of interiors that were burnt orange in colour, purple curtains, red Holdens, yellow pasta with bright red tomato sauce –colour was everywhere. That how I remembered it and that is how it's painted.
