Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes is a photo I took during my daily ritual. I drive to the ocean, swim a few laps and then snap just 2 – 3 photos whilst I dry off. I try to quickly capture whatever organic moments are happening directly in front of me, without really thinking all that much about what the outcome would be, more so taking the photo for the joy of the ritual rather than hoping for the perfect image. This particular moment was taken on the second day of Spring last year.
Hannah Henderson is an emerging photographer from Newcastle, also working within the Japanese tea industry. Her work often reflects the two places she spends most of her time; in the ocean and exploring rural Japan. With a strong focus on capturing candid moments by the coast, Hannah’s routine from 2024, became heading to the ocean for a swim and then immediately snapping 2-3 photos of her surrounds after. Alongside capturing candid, unplanned moments, Hannah also has a deep love of photographing unique hotels and hospitality spaces.
