Flood Veil Mountains, 2023

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
104 × 79 cm
“Most recently, I’m working directly with ideas surrounding water, flooding, mountains and my immersion within the landscape around my home in the Blue mountains, I am responding to the last few years of environmental impact of the floods and heavy rainfall that has taken place, as well as the many ups and downs within my internal sphere. ‘Rain mountains/ Rain scapes’ have been emerging, with the rain holding itself as a veil/shield that also works as a visual framing system for the built up dreamy/memory based, mountainous ranges.”

Amber Hearn is currently based in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Growing up in regional New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, Amber’s nomadic childhood has shaped her relationship with notions of home, memories, land and place. Amber’s artistic practice mainly engages the field of painting, yet broadly embraces installation and video.

Amber graduated from The National Art School in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours). Amber has been a finalist in the Paddington Art Prize, Glover Art Prize, Fishers Ghost Art Award and Blacktown City Art Prize.

Amber currently has some paintings available through Curatorial and Co, Day Gallery and Weswal Gallery.
