Chantel de Latour’s current work investigates memory and physical spaces through the use of light and colour. Her paintings focus on the fluid nature of recurring memories that form an attachment to place. Distance and scale are key elements in her choice of subjects – from rugged coast, to swimming pools to close-ups of oysters. These works continue an open-ended exploration into the visual atmosphere of early memories.
