I am a career artist having worked professionally in theatre, film&tv, music, cabaret, circus and in the last 3 years my visual art practise has made it into the spotlight.
As a school leaver in 1989 I had to choose between two university degree offers, one in Acting and one in Visual Art. I decided to pursue performing arts, believing that I would always paint and that when I was older I would turn my focus onto my painting practise. This took a lot longer than I expected with a 30 year career in the performing arts as well as the job of motherhood, bringing up two wonderful children.
It wasn’t until the pandemic that I was afforded the time and focus to fulfil my ambition of becoming a painter.
In the last 3 years I have been commissioned to do numerous artworks for collectors here in Australia as well as overseas.
I have so far only been represented by one gallery which is Art Lovers Australia and have really appreciated the opportunities this has given me to learn and experiment.
I have been a Finalist in the Art Lovers Australia Prize 2021 and 2022 and featured in the Art Lovers Australia Collectors Book hardcopy Editions for the last 3 years and have had a small number of works included in the following Group Exhibitions:
Punk Luxe 2022 (ALA Collingwood Gallery)
Collectors Exhibition 2023 (ALA Collingwood Gallery)
Fiercely Feminine Exhibition 2023 (ALA Collingwood Gallery)
Affordable Art Fair Melbourne 2023 (Old Exhibition Building Carlton)
Established in 2021, the National Emerging Art Prize was created to provide an annual, highly visible national platform to identify, promote and support the most promising emerging visual and ceramic artists in Australia.
