Everything Washes Up Eventually, 2023

Like many, I consider the observation of the sea a time for reverence. I feel as close to the water and the sky as I do my own body. Host to a cathedral of light, the coast which surrounds me brings me peace, clarity and perspective. This work is a part of a collection of paintings which carve out my comprehension of my personal sea-oriented-faith.

My name is Ellyn and I am a dedicated painter residing in South East Tasmania. I am currently spending my days gathering ideas and painting in my Hobart town-based studio and whichever table I am able to inhabit at home. I attainted my BFA at UTAS in 2021. My practice draws upon themes of love and grief.
