Alix’s practice nods to the traditions of still life in art history while infusing a contemporary sensibility. She is particularly interested in arranging and exploring shape, form, and light, with a focus on harmonies and tensions in composition. Her work celebrates simplicity, tonality, and spatial arrangement. Alix paints what she finds and feels connected to, yet her enthusiasm is equally rooted in the medium itself. The qualities of oil pigment, its application and its sensuous materiality are what drive her creative process.
