Soledad Galvan is a Melbourne-based emerging artist (Originally from Argentina) whose vibrant and evocative paintings explore themes of migration, emotions, and feminism. Inspired by her mother, a talented artist, “Sole” has been creating art since childhood, transitioning to painting full-time in 2020.
Working primarily with acrylics and incorporating collage elements, Sole aims to use her art as a platform for expression and advocacy. By delving into personal experiences and the shared struggles of others, she seeks to give voice to those who may feel marginalized or silenced.
With a passion for experimentation and curiosity, Sole enjoys exploring new techniques and materials. Her creative process is often spontaneous and influenced by her current mood and the music she’s listening to. As she continues her artistic journey, Sole hopes to connect with like-minded individuals, expand her creative horizons, and make a meaningful impact on the art world.
Established in 2021, the National Emerging Art Prize was created to provide an annual, highly visible national platform to identify, promote and support the most promising emerging visual and ceramic artists in Australia.
