Ben Liney (b. 1983) is an Australian artist working on the lands of the Bunurong. Working primarily in oil on canvas, his practice is grounded in close observation of the landscape, with a focus on stillness, surface, and the quiet presence of natural forms. Liney’s restrained and intimate compositions invite reflection on how the land holds time, memory, and quiet energy.
Established in 2021, the National Emerging Art Prize was created to provide an annual, highly visible national platform to identify, promote and support the most promising emerging visual artists in Australia.
