Resilience is a body of work I started recently in reflection of the unbearable pain we can sometimes endure in life. But even though it seems impossible to imagine in that very moment, it is through those experiences we continue to grow. Resilience is a physical manifestation of taking up the space you need, defending it, with gentle reminders of the pain that shaped us.
Born in east Germany, I lived in Berlin, Hamburg , Sydney and NewYork. First studied Photography and worked as a Fashion Photographer for many years, then turning to directing.
And since 2017 I live in Melbourne with my little family.
Working as a director, I was always painting and writing and only recently, last year, I started experimenting with clay and then there was no stopping me. Being stuck in Australia my mother fell terminally ill here in Germany and working with clay saved me from loosing my mind, as I felt helpless, unable to just be with her.
