Raspberry Ripple, 2024

“Raspberry Ripple” is a celebration of warmth, vibrancy, and the light-hearted indulgence of life’s simple pleasures. Inspired by the comforting allure of a Raspberry Ripple Gelato each stripe is carefully applied using terra sigillata, creating a rhythmic interplay of colour and texture that emphasizes the organic curves of the piece.

Gillian is an artist creating and working in Melbourne. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Ceramics) at Monash University and also worked for a number of years in photography. Since recently returning to ceramics, Gillian has employed her skills to exploring variations in design, colour and materials. By incorporating terra sigillata stripes to large forms, she creates a harmonious balance that blends and highlights the undulating curves which circle the organic vessels.
