This painting captures a quiet, intimate moment after a swimming session. A pair of swimming goggles hangs on the edge of the bathtub faucet a small but telling detail. The work reflects a personal story: my son doesn’t enjoy going to the pool but loves swimming in the bathtub, where he feels safe and comfortable. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the contrast between external expectations and personal comfort, capturing the serenity of finding one’s own safe space.

Anna Speirs is an Australian contemporary realist artist specializing in still life and portraiture. Working primarily in oil, she focuses on light, texture, and color to create depth and atmosphere. Through her paintings, she captures moments of beauty and connection, whether in a still life arrangement or a deeply expressive portrait.

With a Fine Art diploma and years of experience, Anna combines classical techniques with a modern perspective and her own artistic vision. She enjoys exploring how light interacts with different surfaces, from the softness of petals to the smoothness of glass.

Anna’s work has been exhibited across Australia and is held in private collections both locally and internationally.
