The transformative quality of light continues to inform my practice, as I marvel it its ability to sculpt, illuminate and diminish a scene. Partly absorbed, partly reflected, the harsh northern sun offers a new dimension, setting the subject aflame & radiating heat. One is left with high-contrast moments of energy and defiance.
Holly Dormor is an Sydney-based visual artist. Her paintings explore the transformative quality of light on glass objects and botanicals. Dormor has been a finalist in The National Emerging Art Prize, ACB Selects, The Hunters Hill Art Prize and The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. Her works are held throughout Australia.
