A CLEAR SIGN, 2025

A Clear Sign is a photo I took out on Waradjuri country in Mudgee. I enjoy taking walks around the outskirts of town and exploring the less touristy parts of a place. I have been working on a series of photos of old signs and on this particular day the wind was blowing and the clouds were brewing up some energy. I liked how the image has a surrealist quality to it. I also like how the viewer could interpret the scene of an empty sign in a variety of ways.

Jared Underwood is a musician, composer and photographer from Sydney Australia.
As a musician he has played all around the country with a variety of artists including- CODA, PROP, Grafton Primary, Jenny Morris, The Whitlams and more. He also composes music for games including One More Line, Thumb Drift and RISK.
He is also a live music photographer and takes photos of contemporary music groups in venues including The Sydney Opera House.
His creative passion in photography is street photography and outback, country towns. He loves exploring the city and country towns looking for interesting photographic opportunities to capture.
