a breaking of the weather, 2023

‘A Breaking of the Weather’ is from a series of process-based entries that evolved through the alchemical properties of paint. Musing on our environments as an extension of ourselves, the familiarity of our likeness in nature and the idea of the dreaming planet were the ideas for this series. “It had been a grey afternoon and sitting on a stone overlooking the water, we thought it was time to head off.”

My name is Seve de Angelis, I am 26 years and from Tasmania. I studied Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania’s Hunter Street campus, graduating in 2018 with a major in painting. I have exhibited within Tasmania in group exhibitions and have held two solo exhibitions.
