Galahs mate for life but this one appears to enjoy the abundance of a solo feast. The pomegranate to nudges this towards a contemporary minimalist memento mori.
I am a self-taught photographer with a longstanding pull toward nature, especially flora and fauna. In my current still life practice, I explore the seasons of life. By layering in vintage objects, birds and antiques, I aim to invite feelings of nostalgia, reflection and recognition. My constructed still life works begin with me styling and shooting a composition in my home studio, then layering in imagery from a library of birds and flower images I have captured digitally in recent years.
