Sean Crowley is an artist based in Gadigal/Sydney. His work reflects on the spaces he inhabits, distorting his everyday life into something abstract and intuitive. In his bold and gestural compositions, liminal spaces – living rooms, kitchens, country roads – are transformed into something new, vibrant and acidic.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2021) and Graduate Diploma (2022) from the National Art School, Sydney. He has previously studied Bachelor of Design in Architecture at the University of Sydney and worked in architecture and urban design, and completed the Intensive Drawing Program (2019) at the Royal Drawing School, London.
Established in 2021, the National Emerging Art Prize was created to provide an annual, highly visible national platform to identify, promote and support the most promising emerging visual artists in Australia.
