OIL ON CANVAS

I am a representational oil painter drawn to the quiet beauty of animals and people and the personal symbolism of everyday objects. Working from my farm-based studio at Ilford, NSW, I explore simple domestic themes, often focusing on animals, through the use of pattern, textures, light, and form. I primarily work in oil, with occasional use of charcoal, pastel, and acrylic to support studies and experimentation. My work invites quiet reflection and emotional connection. It is my hope that viewers will have their own gentle memories triggered by the familiar scenes I create.

Kim Harding is a representational artist who works in her studio at Ilford, near Mudgee NSW. Kim paints with oil onto canvas and is interested in triggering gentle memories for her viewer through everyday subjects, using the play of colour and light across internal and external spaces. Kim’s vibrant paintings often focus on animals, delicate patterns and textures, carefully composed to direct the viewer’s eye to multiple points of interest within the canvas.

Kim studied Graphic Design in Brisbane. Her career initially focused on commercial art and website design, illustration and eventually social media. Kim was able to dedicate herself to a full-time art practice in 2021 and in this four-year period has held four solo exhibitions, 6 group shows and been recognized with 3 awards. Her work appears in private collections across Australia and the USA.
