Court under El train, 2024

I am interested in urban architecture and environments and the geometry patterns and colours that can be found. ‘ Court under el train’ is a literal description of this physical location -a neighbourhood basketball court under an elevated train line. Depicted with a yellow barrier and a building with arches reminiscent of classical architecture this scene as it has a familiarity and is a recognisable section of a contemporary urban scene.

My art practice revolves around capturing junctures in the urban environment, the interplay of man made structures and nature and the effect these have on people. I am particularly interested in elements of architecture or urban planning that try and force people in certain directions.
