This verdant green is divided by a visceral red line which embodies the pulsing force of life itself, the shared blood that courses through our veins, the vital energy that connects us all. This red thread signifies the search for meaning, the constant dance between the brain and the heart, the ever-present negotiation that defines our existence.

Lena Stumpf is a painter and interdisciplinary artist living on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people in Naarm, also known as Melbourne. Her work oscillates between abstraction and figuration, often employing intricate layering techniques that build upon a foundation of gestural brushwork. Her paintings explore the interconnectedness of inner peace and environmental well-being, inviting viewers to contemplate their inner landscapes and their relationship to the world around them. Stumpf’s exhibition titled ‘Cookie Dough’ will open on 30 October at Rubicon ARI.
