Apples are the quintessential still-life subject, and these small, shiny apples resonated with me with their vivid, varied colours. The ideal subject to represent not just the objects but also reflecting the interplay of light and space. By placing the apples off-centre, the composition invites a dynamic exploration of the folds of cloth through expressive brushstrokes.

“I have always had a deep-rooted passion for nature, and was initially drawn to botanical art, where I came to appreciate the intricate details, growth patterns, and colour combinations found in plants.
