As someone who works as a prosthetist, I have the privilege of meeting amputees regularly and listening to their amazing stories. In my recent work, I aim to challenge the conventional notion of the 'perfect body' by creating a portrayal of an angelic figure with androgynous characteristics, a limb difference, and a reimagined face. I achieve this by drawing inspiration from classical art to show the beauty in diversity.
I am a 25-year-old self-taught artist who spends my days working as a Prosthetist/Orthotist. My work has always inspired my art and I find myself drawn to figurative subject matter as it helps me to process the things I see in my daily life. I’m intrigued by the concept of what defines our humanity, particularly where our bodies transition into mechanical extensions.
