Caitlin Reilly is an Australian-born multi-disciplinary artist currently residing on Bundjalung Country in northern New South Wales, specifically Byron Bay, Australia.
“Through my artistic endeavours, I strive to give life to my affection for the environment in which I live. Traversing landscape, figurative, and abstraction genres, I aim to manifest the essence of this emotional connection. Having divided my experiences of home between Shanghai, China (2009-2015) and Byron Bay, Australia (2015-2023), my recent body of work, ‘Streets of this town,’ explores themes of home, belonging, identity, and place. These fundamental concepts serve as the driving force behind my artistic exploration, as I question the human experience and seek to illuminate connections shared with our surroundings in daily life.”
Established in 2021, the National Emerging Art Prize was created to provide an annual, highly visible national platform to identify, promote and support the most promising emerging visual and ceramic artists in Australia.
